About My Clients
I work with adults, families, and Spanish-speaking clients — including first-generation clients, immigrants, and members of the Latinx community. My practice serves clients healing from trauma (single-incident and intergenerational), anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, OCD, grief, and family conflict. My clinical background includes disaster recovery and community mental health work — I've supported people through some of the hardest seasons imaginable. Ofrezco terapia en español y en inglés.
My Background and Approach
I hold a Master's in Professional Mental Health Counseling and a Bachelor's in Psychology from the University of Puerto Rico, with over 20 years of clinical, case management, and community support experience. My approach is compassionate and client-centered. I draw from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy — always paced to each client's needs, not to a protocol. My work has taken me through disaster recovery and community crisis, and that experience shapes how I show up with clients carrying heavy things.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Creo que el trauma intergeneracional es real, y que la sanación también es posible. With over 20 years of clinical experience including disaster recovery and community mental health work, I am committed to care that honors cultural context, respects the client's pace, and never rushes the deep work. I advocate for expanded bilingual mental health access and for recognition that healing is both personal and collective.
