About My Clients
Feeling overwhelmed, anxious or unmotivated in your day to day functioning? Maybe even traumatized, in crisis or experiencing chronic mood symptoms; let me help you, help yourself. Unpack those things in your life that may create mental chaos and instability so you can become your best self and let your joy rise!
My Background and Approach
In this safe space you will feel empowered to process your thoughts and feelings out loud to seek solutions, gain perspective and overall mental and emotional healing. With my guidance, we will work together to accomplish your goals using mindfulness techniques, trauma focused and cognitive behavioral therapy and other evidenced based treatment modalities. In your therapy space, expect a warmth and openness. You will be encouraged from a strengths based perspective to focus on what is working in your life versus what isn’t and build from there.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I began my social work career serving in the United States Peace Corps as a youth development volunteer in St. Lucia, Eastern Caribbean serving higher risk adolescent girls. I created a character education curriculum and conducted life skills groups. I also assisted in providing education around HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention and capacity building for the community health center. I've worked within disenfranchised communities and intensive mental health settings providing individual, family and group therapy. I value serving those who have limited accessibility to therapy services and working with populations who have survived trauma and systemic injustices. Not only do I focus on mental health, but consider other socioeconomic and wellness barriers that may also impede one's daily functioning.
