My Background and Approach
I offer virtual and in person therapy to motivated adults struggling with relationships, anxiety, depression, or trauma. I'm LGBTQ+ affirming and I'm fully bilingual (Eng/Sp). I've trained in family systems, trauma informed care, motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy and emotion focused therapy. I will tailor treatment to your needs, and actively work alongside you to help keep you moving in the direction you want. I approach each interaction with collaboration in mind; I aim to create a warm, safe space where you can feel comfortable being fully you. Together, we will identify the stumbling blocks to your joy, and explore your thoughts, feelings, and patterns of behavior. With this insight, we will then discern choice points and discuss opportunities for change. I will work with you to practice and enhance healthy coping skills, so you can be empowered to problem solve & live a healthier, happier life!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that our lives are enriched when we broaden our spheres and embrace our potential. I believe that many folks end up getting in their own way by losing touch with their own strength, their own values, and/or their inherent joy. This can be due to external factors such as lack of supportive environment, or internal factors such as lack of confidence. However, I firmly believe that change is possible! My view is that change happens in two phases: first by learning and understanding one's full context, and then by looking at current choice points.
