About My Clients
Being a teenager or young adult is tough enough, you’re going through massive life transitions while simultaneously figuring out who you are as a person. When a major and unexpected life change happens, or you go through a traumatic experience this already difficult stage of life starts to feel unbearable. I work with teenagers, young adults, and their families to develop the skills to move through trauma and in to the life your child wants to live.
My Background and Approach
I am an LCSW with 10 years of experience working with adolescents and young adults in a variety of settings; homeless, incarceration, and in psychiatric hospitalization. I focus on working with male and male identified trauma and abuse survivors; working to overcome the feelings of shame, guilt, and safe blame many of these young men report feeling in regard to their trauma. I am a firm believer that most young people know what they need to heal, they just may not have the words to express it. Working collaboratively to empower young persons to find their way back to themselves through the skills and abilities they likely already possess but are just having difficulty accessing.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
You're not broken, my job isn't to "fix" you. I believe the ways we speak about ourselves, the stories we internalize, have a large effects on the way we navigate the world and on the ways we allow ourselves to ultimately view ourselves.
