About My Clients
Clients talk to therapists often when they have more questions than answers, more confusion than explanation, or are simply meandering without a compass. Do you have unexplained sadness or anxiety? Are you struggling with your sexuality or, broadly, who you are as a whole? It might be time to talk. You deserve to discover yourself. You deserve hope.
My Background and Approach
I’m new as a “helping professional”, but I’ve been professionally helping others in various capacities throughout my career in the business world. I have extensive experience in developing people and helping others succeed. I moved from business to counseling to truly focus on individuals and couples and get to the root of the issues holding them back personally and professionally. My approach is curiosity, humility, and unconditional positive regard toward my clients. We will explore your history and identify those moments that have set you on the path you’re walking today. Those moments could be biological factors (brain chemistry or genes), life experiences like abuse or trauma, or a family history of mental health issues. We will use tools and techniques that assist you in learning how to sort your emotions, find meaning in your identity, and correct your negative self-talk.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Mental health is influenced by various factors that shape or distort our worldview and view of ourselves. These issues can be temporary or lifelong, and it’s a matter of learning about what we can resolve outright or finding a means to cope healthily. I believe in science-backed treatment methods but do not operate with a one-size-fits-all approach. After all, we’re squishy unpredictable human beings with layers of unique multigenerational experiences, geographies, spiritual beliefs, ethnicities, and biology. I embrace those that identify as LGBTQ+ and those that may still be searching for who they are. I believe that identity confusion—racial, sexual, or gender—can lead to depression, anxiety, and other mood disorders until clients come to terms with parts of their identity. We are on Earth for a finite period. Let’s use that time responsibly and find meaning and fulfillment free of debilitating anguish, pain, anxiety, or confusion.
