About My Clients
My office is a space for clients to feel comfortable enough to cuss and wear their sweatpants to therapy. I am not a doctor, or a CEO. I am a person and so are you. You are the expert in your own life. I am here to support you in discovering the path toward healing, and becoming the best version of yourself. I apply the same thought process when working with children. In my office, children can expect a safe space to be themselves and learn to identify, accept, and manage their emotions.
My Background and Approach
I have a background in Behavioral Health, supporting vulnerable adolescents as they faced the messy and difficult challenge of learning how to adult. Since starting my career as a therapist, I have continued to provide services to adolescents in addition to providing play therapy to children and person centered talk therapy to adults. My approach to therapy is eclectic and collaborative. I utilize tools from Internal Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Somatic Therapy, and others, based on the unique needs and preferences of each client.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that the core of every human being is good. As we go through life and face various challenges, we develop coping mechanisms to survive, some of which can be harmful to ourselves and others. At the end of the day, we are all just trying to manage our pain and make it through life. There is no room in my office for bigotry based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or any other identity. As a cisgender white woman, I may not be able to understand every aspect of your lived experience, but I am committed to listening to you with acceptance and empathy. I will acknowledge our cultural differences and be ready to learn from you about who you are and the unique challenges you face.
