About My Clients
In a world that seems so hungry for connection, it's still so easy to feel alone. Maybe it's the overwhelming stress of everyday life, or past experiences that won't go away. Maybe you never feel good enough, or you can't quite seem to let people in. Whatever it might be, sometimes we just need a safe space where we can be real in our struggle, better understand our broken places, and move toward healing and growth. It is my honor to join clients in this worthwhile process.
My Background and Approach
I use a trauma-informed, attachment-based approach to therapy. This means, I see our struggles through the lens of past experiences and relationships. I support clients in better understanding how these things have impacted their sense of self, current relationships, and ways of being. I'm collaborative and relational, working alongside you to process past experiences in a more healthy way and to rewrite patterns of the past. I am trained in EMDR and often use this modality to support clients in reprocessing past experiences. I also work with many couples and families, in strengthening trust and connection through attachment-based strategies. I believe that healing is possible, and that so often, it happens in relationships. I want to support you in becoming the fullness of who you were meant to be, and in building relationships in your life that heal.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Some areas of my own story that may intersect with your own: I'm an adoptee who understands attachment issues deeply and personally, and it's made me passionate about helping individuals and families heal from attachment wounds. Because of my varied cultural experiences (I'm a transracial adoptee, and I've lived several years overseas), I love to support others in exploring and strengthening their own cultural identity, and in navigating cultural differences in relationships. I've personally walked through church-related trauma and am honored to join others in healing from these kinds of experiences.
