About My Clients
Are you feeling broken, lost, stuck, depressed, anxious, and/or experienced trauma throughout your life? I enjoy working with clients who are going through life challenges, changes, or obstacles and are looking for healing to move past it. I can help by meeting you where you are at, guiding you through a process of discovery, and working through their inner rooted issues, and ultimately healing from trauma through EMDR.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in the State of Michigan and certified to provide EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy. I believe the most important aspect of therapy is trust and a mutual respectful relationship. In order to build a solid foundation, I like to start out therapy by spending time building trust and getting acquainted with each other prior to diving into anything deep. Afterwards, I prefer to work collaboratively in a non-structured format. I enjoy the spontaneity and creativity that comes as a result of freely conversing together. Along the way, I incorporate teaching skills, providing tools/resources, engaging through EMDR, and incorporating mindfulness, somatic exercises, and inner child work.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am passionate about empowering individuals to develop their own voice in the world and become the best version of themselves. I recognize that change is hard and the thought of opening up to a stranger can be intimidating. For that reason, I try to create a safe and comfortable environment for you to be able to share your unique story. If you are at the point in your life where you are open and seeking change but unsure of how to implement it. I would love to be given the opportunity to work and collaborate with you. I believe that people are all born with inherent worth and destiny and at times due to life’s circumstances, people can feel incapable of reaching that destiny. I strongly value trust, honesty, and authenticity within the helping relationship. I aspire to have real and meaningful conversations with people to resolve any underlying roots and move towards growth and healing.
