About My Clients
Therapy gives us the opportunity to learn, change, and grow in our identities and relationships. I believe that therapy can be transformative, but it can also be challenging, and it takes courage to seek help and make changes in our lives that might be necessary for that transformation to occur. I trust that you are an expert in your life and will work alongside you at your pace to help you identify areas in which you would like to grow, and help you create a path in which to do it.
My Background and Approach
I know that you have your own unique way of looking at the world. I, therefore, emphasize person-centered, strengths-based counseling, using an eclectic approach. I frequently use cognitive, acceptance, and mindful techniques to help you examine your thoughts and how they can influence your feelings and behaviors. My studies emphasized trauma-focused therapy and I am trained to provide services to individuals, couples, and families from diverse backgrounds and cultures. My training and experience have prepared me to support clients in obtaining the tools and techniques necessary to treat a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, grief, loss, life transitions, family conflict, and other mental health concerns.
