About My Clients
Anxiety having too much power over you? Does work/life/school balance seem unreachable? Having difficulty adjusting with military life as a spouse? I have been there and have the ability to seek out solutions with you while challenging negative thinking and unhealthy coping behaviors. You have the strength already inside of you to change, but sometimes it just needs a little dusting off. Lets work together to Bloom On!
My Background and Approach
Therapy can be hard work, but so rewarding when applied to your daily life. You can walk away with tools to get through panic attacks, stress, peer pressure, communication issues, etc. I use a solution-focused approach where we take what is not working in your life and turn it into a realistic coping abilities. Alongside that, a cognitive-behavioral framework is applied where we take negative thinking patterns and understand how those thoughts, behaviors, and emotions all intertwine. I encourage mindfulness along the way; allowing you to remain in the present moment while creating goals for a flourishing future. I have several years of applying all of these approaches within a number of settings: schools, hospitals, residential programs, and private practice. These years have led me to focusing my practice on anxiety and major life adjustments specifically to the adolescent and young adult population.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in the ability to change no matter the season if that's what you are seeking. I appreciate and value all backgrounds, religions, sexual orientations, genders, political stance, race, socioeconomic status, disabilities, etc. I do not hold judgement to those who are different than I and have no problem being able to accept and address those differences in session if asked. There may be just be one thing I cannot accept: an opinion of cats being better than dogs!
