I began working with the Utah Domestic Violence Coalition back in 2019 as an intern. I worked on the crisis line, providing resources to survivors. I also had the opportunity to advocate for survivors during the legislative session. Wrote a policy brief and met with legislative members to educate them on how the bills they were trying to pass would impact survivors and our suggestions for the safest and most trauma informed options for survivors.

PTSD is a common symptom after any type of abuse. It manifests itself differently with each individual. And it's important to recognize how it is impacting a person individually. I am a big believer that not all diagnosis are permanent and that you do not have to always feel you have trauma underlying everything in your life impacting all/many of your decisions. There is healing!

Leaving a relationship like this is hard and very complex. In therapy we are able to process this.

I have worked with the Rape Recovery Center and The Refuge for about 5 years. I currently volunteer with The Refuge providing resources to survivors. I also respond to the hospital when a survivor is having a rape kit exam. In the hospitals I'm able to advocate for the client and ensure that they get as many resources and support from us. In therapy I'm able to address the complexities and many layers that come with Sexual assaults.

Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing therapy is what I like to call my "magic wand". It is one of the fastest and most effective ways to work through and heal trauma. We are able to desensitize the negative beliefs and feelings we have from an event and replace them with a safe and positive belief. It is such a powerful form of therapy.

We specialize in providing Holistic Therapy. We love integrating music, art, movement, and animals into the healing journey. Being able to connect our mind and bodies in many ways is imperative to full healing. As well as being able to take holistic approaches that clients can practice on their own in their own time, for the rest of their lives. Our goal is ultimate and lasting healing for our clients.

With 5+ years working with trauma, we are able to acknowledge the complexities of trauma and how to address them in a productive and healing way for each client.
