About My Clients
I specialize in working with children, adolescents, and their families with expertise in autism, ADHD, and anxiety. I have worked extensively with children who exhibit behavioral challenges and collaborate with parents to implement positive, evidence-based strategies to promote their child's emotional-regulation skills. I offer therapy and assessment services.
My Background and Approach
I received my Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University and attended the University of California, Los Angeles as an undergraduate. I work with children using evidence-based cognitive-behavioral therapy as well as behavioral principles and mindfulness practices. I rely upon my in-depth understanding of child development, including typical developmental progression of children through the various stages of socio-emotional and cognitive development. I help parents become more knowledgeable about developmentally appropriate expectations and provide parenting tools and techniques that can promote positive behavioral change.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I see children as self-motivated learners who seek to do their best with the tools they have at their disposal. When a child is exhibiting behaviors of concern or difficulties with learning, it is our job to determine the underlying cause of these symptoms. I believe that children succeed when their individual differences are well understood, when they feel secure and connected, and when environmental supports are present to provide scaffolding without impeding autonomy. I rely on the use of scientifically rigorous tools to collaborate with families in developing a plan to nurture a child’s growth and success.
