About My Clients
I have experience supporting clients through relationship and family violence and other complex histories of trauma. I work with clients ages 12 and up. My therapeutic style is warm, sincere, and I practice a person-centered approach, which means the client is always driver in their therapeutic journey.
My Background and Approach
In 2019, I received my MSW degree from Colorado State University, and began working at Denver’s Family Justice Center for survivors of intimate relationship abuse and family violence. I have experience supporting survivors of all ages and in various roles including advocacy, developing & leading a youth camping and mentoring program, and therapy through my private practice.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that we are all good inside, but trauma can get us stuck in beliefs and behaviors that - in safe relationships and a safe environment - do not serve us. Good therapy should help us recognize our unhelpful beliefs and habits, and deconstruct and reconstruct so that we can live a life that is not defined by our trauma. I use a number of different evidence-based therapy tools, but much of my work is informed by research around the healing components of self-compassion & hope. I have experience working with clients of various identities and cultural backgrounds, and I know therapy sessions do not exist in a vacuum - I understand and own my responsibility to name and make space to discuss the past and present harm caused by white supremacy.
