About My Clients
I lead with warmth and authenticity, hoping to foster a positive experience in therapy for you. I think vulnerability is courageous and want you to feel comfortable sharing your story.
My Background and Approach
I use an intersectional framework and integrate a trauma-informed and socio-politically engaged approach to mental health. I believe working from an intersectional framework helps to deeply understand issues, as they are often affected by a number of individual, collective and systemic discriminations and disadvantages. I typically use an eclectic strength-based approach with clients, utilizing a range of modalities depending on need, but draw strongly from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Feminist Therapy and Psychodynamic Therapy. As a licensed social worker with more than 17 years of experience I have worked in many settings providing crisis stabilization, therapeutic services, supervision, and community advocacy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
A member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I am passionate about decarceration, anti-racism, wealth redistribution, and anti-urgency culture. In my free time I hang out with our three dogs, binge watch tv shows, tend to plants and try to learn to be a better cook. I find calmness in listening to music, meditating daily and being by the water.
