About My Clients
Are you feeling pressed by the external requirements, stuck in unwanted lifestyle, and losing your self? Facing life transitions, isolation, and relationship problems? Haunted by deep-rooted grief or traumatic experiences? I work with individuals, families, and couples, navigating mood disorders, personality issues, intrusive thoughts, and panic attacks. We walk beyond symptoms, uncover patterns, and create a safe space filled with trust and authenticity.
My Background and Approach
I hold a Master degree in Mental Health Counseling from Teachers College, Columbia University. My practice integrate evidence based approaches with traditional methods. Trained in DBT/CBT and short-time dynamic therapy, I utilize techniques in these approaches to provide you with a toolkit of coping skills. I also integrate attachment theory and internal family system theory to help you interpret thoughts and behaviors. Above all modalities, I am dedicated to building up a safe place for you to be seen, heard, validated, and to behave just like who you are. As a Male from East Asian background, I empower everyone who wants to take a fresh look at the social, cultural, and familial expectations on their shoulder.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
The most therapeutic factor in therapy is the relationship itself. Making choices in various theories and thoughts, I stand firmly on the ground of veracity, fidelity, beneficence, and justice, establishing firm boundaries and making the therapy plan best for the clients. Finding your best fit therapist is not easy, but we will embrace the encounter wholeheartedly.
