About My Clients
The process of healing after trauma can feel daunting and frustrating. After trauma, you may struggle with feeling out of control, stuck in old patterns, and having difficulty trusting yourself or others. My typical client is a survivor of complex trauma, religious/cult trauma, childhood abuse/ neglect, narcissistic abuse, racial trauma, domestic violence, and sexual abuse/ assault. My patients describe me as warm, effective, collaborative, and proactive.
My Background and Approach
I received my PhD in clinical psychology from Fuller Graduate School of Psychology. I completed my doctoral residency at the San Francisco Veterans Affairs Health Care System/ UCSF Medical Center, where I specialized in PTSD assessment and treatment. My therapy practice integrates neuropsychological research on complex trauma/ PTSD, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and attachment theory. I am passionate about educating others about effective, phase-based trauma recovery.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that while healing from PTSD and complex trauma is painful and hard, it is always possible and you are worth it. I want to help you regain your agency and self-confidence, by guiding you to understand your patterns and processing your trauma. I believe that identity issues like gender, sexuality, religion, race, immigration, neurodivergence, and dis/ability must inform complex trauma recovery.
