About My Clients
I believe in cultivating a therapeutic partnership and identifying obstacles to one's goals. This could be connecting with their partners on a deeper level or to help people explore one's identity(ies). I understand how the world can be a very difficult place and that asking for help can be hard; but we all need help sometimes. We all need a safe place free of judgment where we can feel seen and heard.
My Background and Approach
I have a background in residential substance abuse, both in corrections and within the community. I have professional training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), MI (Motivational Interviewing) I am certified in the assessment and treatment of ADHD, and I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with a Client Centered approach.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a therapist, I ground my work in the belief that every individual deserves dignity, respect, and the freedom to live authentically. I am a proud member of the LGBTQ community and an active supporter of human rights. These identities and commitments inform my clinical perspective by reinforcing the values of inclusivity, equity, and social justice. While I maintain appropriate professional boundaries, my lived experience strengthens my dedication to creating safe, affirming spaces for all clients—especially those whose identities or experiences have been marginalized or stigmatized.
