About My Clients
Many of my clients have spent a long time trying to understand themselves and why they feel the way they do. You may overthink, worry about what others think, blame yourself, or feel exhausted from trying so hard to hold everything together. Maybe you understand your patterns but still can't seem to change how you feel. I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship wounds, and the lingering effects of painful experiences.
My Background and Approach
I’m a Licensed Certified Social Worker who works with adults through a warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed approach. I don’t believe therapy should feel like someone sitting across from you analyzing you or handing you a list of things you “should” be doing differently. We’ll work together to understand what’s happening beneath the surface and what keeps certain patterns, emotions, or beliefs showing up. My approach draws from attachment-based therapy, EMDR, ACT, psychodynamic therapy, CBT, and other evidence-based approaches. That means we may explore how past experiences shaped the way you relate to yourself and others, while also paying attention to what happens emotionally and physically in the present. Insight can be incredibly valuable, but sometimes understanding why you feel something doesn’t make the feeling go away. Therapy can help us work with both.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I’ve never sat across from someone and heard their story without their pain making sense in context. The ways we cope, protect ourselves, pull away, overthink, or try to keep everyone happy usually developed for a reason—even when those same patterns are no longer helping us. I believe people make the most meaningful changes when they feel understood rather than judged. You don’t have to come to therapy knowing exactly what’s wrong, what you need, or even how to put what you’re feeling into words. We can make sense of it together. I also don’t believe therapy is about turning you into a different person. It’s about helping you understand yourself with more compassion, loosen the grip of things that have kept you stuck, and have more freedom in how you respond to your life, your relationships, and yourself.
