About My Clients
I work with people navigating depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, life transitions, and identity-related stress. As a gender specialist and healthcare trainer, I bring extensive experience supporting QTN people, along with racialized and Spanish-speaking communities. My work centers those living with complex trauma, systemic oppression, and intersecting identities. Together, we’ll honor your story, explore what feels heavy, and create space for healing and change.
My Background and Approach
I am a bilingual, bicultural, queer Latinx Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with more than 20 years of experience. My background includes senior leadership in community health, training clinicians in gender-affirming care, and teaching at medical and graduate schools. I specialize in working with people navigating depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, life transitions, and identity-related stress. I bring particular expertise in supporting QTN people, racialized and Spanish-speaking communities, and those living at the intersections of multiple identities. My approach draws from psychodynamic, narrative, relational-cultural, CBT, and somatic practices, all grounded in trauma-informed and anti-oppressive frameworks. In therapy, I collaborate with you to honor your story, recognize your survival strategies, and create space for healing, belonging, and meaningful change.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe healing happens in connection, within spaces rooted in equity, authenticity, and compassion. My values are shaped by my identity as a queer, Latinx, genderqueer person and by my lived experiences of migration, culture, and resilience. I am committed to supporting queer communities, racialized and Spanish-speaking people, and those at the intersections of multiple identities. My work has included developing gender-affirming healthcare programs, training healthcare providers, engaging in international social work, and teaching clinical social work. I also stay active in local and national queer and racial justice efforts, using my voice to challenge systemic oppression and foster belonging. These commitments guide my practice and reflect my belief that every story deserves respect, dignity, and care.
