About My Clients
I work with people of all ages—including families and couples—using an approach that is direct, laid-back, and rooted in real results. I know that when you seek support, you’re looking for answers and healing, and my goal is to help you get there as efficiently as possible. By blending my expertise in how the brain and body work together with a practical understanding of mental health, we’ll decode the difficult times and find lasting resolutions. Together, we’ll map out a path forward for you.
My Background and Approach
I’m a clinical psychologist who believes that understanding ourselves is the first step toward a better life. Since earning my PhD at the University of Montana, I’ve worn many hats—professor, clinical director, and private practitioner. These roles have taught me one universal truth: we all want to feel more in control of our journey. Whether in the classroom or the therapy room, I focus on helping people become more conscious of their thoughts and actions so they can live with more purpose and less chaos. I have specialized as a child, adolescent and family psychologist and have extensive training in the areas of infant mental health, developmental trauma, attachment based disturbances, relational neurobiology, brain and child development, and parent child relationships. One of my core beliefs is that problematic behavior or functioning is developed in the context of relationships and it is through relationships that we grow and develop healthy, adaptive ways of functioning.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
In my spare time, I founded and co-lead a nonprofit community bail fund in my local community called the "Cecil Freedom Fund". We focus on providing cash bail assistance to those who are granted their freedom but would not be able to access it due to financial constraints. We provide transportation assistance to those in the pre-trial detention system so that they can attend their court dates and check in appointments, ensuring that they do not garner further charges and giving giving them a chance to get out of the justice/carceral system.
