About My Clients
I work with ages 10 and up for a variety of emotional/mental issues. Whether you're a child, teen, young adult, or adult, my goal is to create a safe space where you can explore challenges, build healthy coping skills, and improve communication in your daily life. I help my clients leave each session feeling understood and educated about skills to practice and what they can do with their emotions/struggles.
My Background and Approach
I have a Master's in Education degree from Campbell University where I dual majored in School Counseling along with Mental Health Counseling. I work a lot with the Autistic community to help them understand the world around them. I have experience working with many different ages but my heart will always be with 10-25 year olds. I love helping students find their way in life and build better communication/social skills for the future. My older adult clients also learn communication and relationship building techniques for life stressors. Also coping skills for anxiety & depression. I can assist you in learning how mental health impacts your day to day lives and ways to help work around challenges. I work with families to develop communication skills, positive parenting practices, and behavior management strategies to ease the distress within the home and help families return to a state of comfort and connection.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I personally believe I can work with any culture, belief, or religion client's bring in. I enjoy learning and expanding my knowledge as we grow a therapeutic relationship. I do not push beliefs on others and I do not tell people they are wrong when they discuss sexual/cultural/religion based thoughts. I want everyone to feel like therapy is as easy as talking to a close friend. Personalized and compassionate care is so important to help everyone feel safe!
