About My Clients
Has chronic pain or illness negatively impacted your quality of life and/or impaired your functioning and/or impacted your mood? Do you have difficulty sleeping well? If so, I can help with any of these that is impacting you. I work with adults (18-95 years old) via SimplePractice, to provide confidential high quality video sessions.
My Background and Approach
I completed a psychology undergraduate degree then masters and doctoral degrees in psychology (with multicultural and neuropsychology emphases). I worked as a generalist providing effective treatment for a wide range of mental conditions and relationship concerns 2000-2013. Since 2014, I have specialized in treating chronic pain and illness. Because poor sleep can play a role in someone developing chronic pain and is commonly an issue for many who have chronic pain, I also provide treatment for sleep disorders for those with chronic pain and those who don’t have chronic pain but know insomnia is a health (physical and mental) risk and want to resolve their sleep issues.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have been dedicated to, and have taught in diversity and social justice courses in graduate programs, for years. I believe in respect and justice for all. I’m a former veterinary tech, family therapy association president, graduate school professor and department chair. I provide mentoring and am willing to provide clinical supervisor for interns, postdoctoral and licensed mental health providers again, when my schedule permits, but I prioritize client care.
