My Background and Approach
Our experiential, holistic approach focuses on real-time encounters - in the room with therapist, family or partner, or in the outside world - providing new ways to engage, play and challenge yourself, your loved ones or the therapist.
Unlike traditional talk therapy which focuses on thinking and feelings alone; our therapeutic model is aligned with what we now know — to affect deep, lasting change we need to gradually, progressively become aware of our thinking (cognition), feelings (affect), bodies (somatic sensations) and reorganize the ways these systems relate within us and between us (inter and intrapersonal). Recent developments in the field have revealed that past experiences become imprinted in our neural pathways, our nervous systems, and our bodies affecting the ways we experience ourselves and our world. These networks of systems regulating our body, mind and relationships are complex. They interact and can be re-patterned to expand and synthesize our experiences.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe this world needs a perfectly imperfect you. All sides of you - the easy and the complex, the parts you show the world and the parts exiled, your loveable sides and the parts that are harder to love. I am your ally. I believe in the truth of your experiences, in your best intentions and in the emotional and behavioral responses that have gotten you this far.
I have seen day by day, that with the right supports, targeted interventions and with loving & determined presence, even the most complex issues can be transformed. The solution to every problem can found within the problem itself. Together we will find -or co-create it.
As a therapist, I hold myself accountable at every stage of the work. I expect to face challenges and, together, to find creative ways to overcome them. Every session I will do my best to guide you as you build enough internal trust to re-engage, complete and resolve the unfinished business that underly most psychological issues.
