About My Clients
My clients often experience anxiety, stress, or identity changes related to postpartum, trauma, or major life transitions. Whether you’re a new mom or navigating work, relationships, and self-discovery, therapy provides tools for balance and emotional regulation.
My Background and Approach
I’m Heather Lopez, LCSW, a licensed clinical social worker, mom, and certified birth doula with extensive experience in perinatal mental health, trauma, anxiety, and life transitions. My clinical training includes trauma-informed care and evidence-based practices like cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), which help clients develop practical tools to manage overwhelming emotions and rebuild confidence. Having supported countless women through pregnancy, postpartum, and identity shifts, I understand the unique challenges this life phase brings. My dual role as therapist and doula allows me to blend emotional support with real-world insights, creating a compassionate, safe space where clients feel heard and empowered. Whether you’re coping with postpartum anxiety, processing trauma, or navigating major life changes, I’m dedicated to helping you find balance and reclaim your well-being.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in creating a therapy space grounded in empathy, respect, and cultural humility where every person feels valued and understood. As a proud mom, therapist, and doula, I’m deeply committed to supporting women’s mental health, reproductive justice, and trauma recovery. I actively support movements that promote racial equity, gender inclusivity, and mental health awareness, including Black Lives Matter and LGBTQ+ rights. I strive to bring awareness to the unique challenges faced by marginalized communities and advocate for accessible, compassionate care for all. Outside of work, I volunteer with local maternal health organizations and enjoy connecting with communities focused on empowerment and healing. I’m passionate about helping clients find their voice and resilience, no matter their background or identity.
