About My Clients

Begin practicing your worthiness by engaging in non-judgmental curiosity and compassionate exploration of your emotional life. I guide clients in a process of releasing from right/wrong/good/bad paradigms and engaging in a practice of reflection around their emotional life, distress, and sorrow. My interest in early attachments isn't centered on "what went wrong" but to discover what happened; building a client's working internal history, healing, and avoiding dead ends, like blame.

My Background and Approach

My doctoral degree is in Multicultural Psychology, which blends beautifully with models of attachment, self-compassion, and self-care. Growing into private practice has allowed a variety of diverse work experiences to inform the approach I take with clients; deepening my commitment to change through transformational emotional healing. More than ever, I encourage clients to use therapy as scaffolding on their journey of self-discovery, acceptance, and growth.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I approach all people as dynamic and deep feeling; as well as worthy of compassion and challenge. Therapeutic alliance, or bonding, is key to a feeling of success with therapy. Feeling seen, heard, and accepted, sparks potential for profound change. Changing our approach to others, as opposed to investing in changing others, is fundamental to achieving treatment goals. While we cannot control those in our lives, our approach as well as our reactions can have a significant impact on how we experience our lives. It is rare that people begin therapy and make sweeping changes to their context. More often, clients report how transformed they feel when they live, react, speak, and love in congruence with their internal needs. This journey includes replenishing a well of compassion for and patience with how difficult it can be to make even the subtlest changes to living more a vulnerable, honest, imperfect life. An investment in self is the foundation from which we grow all else.
