About My Clients
I specialize in helping those who are healing from domestic violence, sexual assault, sexual abuse, and childhood sexual abuse. Trauma can manifest itself in many ways, such as anxiety, depression, disassociation, PTSD, and even personality disorders. We all learn ways to protect ourselves, and those strategies work at the time, but what if you don't need them anymore? Thing can change, people can change, and we can figure how to make it all work together.
My Background and Approach
I am a Certified Trauma Professional who has experience working in the areas of acute trauma, complex trauma, and PTSD. I am also trained in EMDR, ACT, DBT, Grief Therapy, and certified in NLP. I am also currently working towards becoming certified in Religious Trauma and Eco Therapy. I take a holistic, integrative and individualized approach focused on creating a safe, compassionate and non judgmental atmosphere. When you are in my office, it's ok the be exactly who you are and to tell your story at your own pace. Sometimes if you’ve been through trauma, you may feel stuck, lost, or feel like you don’t even know who you are anymore, and that’s ok too. We can explore that together.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in the right of all individuals to live their lives in safety and with dignity and respect. I also think knowing your values, and living your values is an important piece to living an authentic and balanced life. For me, those values are kindness, compassion, integrity, spirituality, and serenity. Life can certainly be challenging, and if you've lived long enough, you begin to notice that the same challenges seem to come up over and over and over. It may be different people and different circumstances, but there is always something all too familiar about it. This can leave you feeling like you are "stuck in a rut", but what if you were able to move up one step at a time? Then the rut becomes a spiral. While it may seem like the same issue, the spiral gives you an opportunity to look at the issue from a different perspective. This perspective from each point on the spiral allows you the space to ask yourself ,"what can I do differently this time?".
