Areas of focus: Anxiety, Attachment Issues, C-PTSD & Trauma, EMDR, Informed parts work, Perfectionism, Self Esteem, Sleep disturbances stemming from nightmares, Somatic Awareness
My Background and Approach
I am a trained Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Washington. I have a Master’s in Social Work from Edinboro University (2016) and became fully licensed in the state of Washington in 2019. I started providing individual therapy to adults navigating the impacts of mental health symptoms in October 2015 and previously spent 4 years working as a mental health technician in inpatient facilities. I take a curious approach to therapy and incorporate a blend of EMDR, Mindfulness, CBT, informed parts work and humor into my sessions. I utilize a holistic lens to examine the impacts of the past, the present, the relationships, environments and individual circumstances of your life and how that all impacts your general well-being. I am passionate about EMDR and am dedicated to helping you feeling comfortable in your body, your relationships and 'getting past your past'.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Black Lives Matter, Women and LGBTQ+ rights are human rights. I strive to provide therapy and supervision that is inclusive and affirming, free from discrimination on the basis of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, ability, or any other aspect of identity. I believe people don't need to be "fixed" and healing happens in the context of community, trust, recognition and safety. In my free time, I’m watching TV, hiking, reading, listening to podcasts, traveling, baking sourdough, exploring antique shops and spending time with loved ones. I’m passionate about EMDR and love all things national park related.
