About My Clients
Depression, anxiety, irritability, mood swings, or general feelings of being overwhelmed, can lead to resentment and fatigue. These struggles affect self-confidence, relationships, and overall well-being. I can help you better understand, not only why this happens, but what you can do to safely and effectively find your path to wellness. I work with adults age 18 and older and I have additional training and certification for college students and new parents.
My Background and Approach
My approach is welcoming and patient-centered. We will partner together to create an individualized plan tailored to your unique needs wherever you are on your life journey. This may include therapy, medication management (if needed), and Brainspotting for trauma processing. With over 20 years experience in healthcare and dual certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner as well as certification as a Perinatal Mental Health Specialist, I am well equipped to meet your needs in way that is effective and safe. My therapy approach is tailored to your needs and my clients often progress to including different modalities as part of a well-rounded treatment plan. Together, we will establish your goals and make sure that our work in session translates to positive changes and growth between sessions. My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am the founder of Joy Spring Mental Health. My passion for mental health developed in response to my frustrations with the lack of resources in typical medical care. In order to be truly well, you need support for your physical, mental, spiritual, financial, emotional, and social health. My model is holistic, taking the time of longer appointments to build relationships with my patients so we can partner together for your success. I keep my caseload manageable so that my clients have the personal attention they need. My therapy work is trauma-informed and includes skill building and resource identification so that you can safely and comfortably identify and move beyond the areas of your life where you feel stuck. Clients who work with me are ready to thrive and can expect that our work together will be focused on creating long-term positive changes.
