About My Clients
I enjoy working with individuals and have experience with self-esteem, family of origin, life adjustment, and faith issues. Having spent 25 years involved with the Tennessee Girls State program, I am experienced in working with young women, as well as those in, or pursuing, a creative vocation.
My Background and Approach
Self-esteem issues, relationship problems, or difficult transitions - everyone needs help navigating life sometimes. I encourage self-compassion and champion the idea that we can rewrite our stories at any age. I see our lives as a novel - who we are at chapter 13 is not who we have to be at chapter 27. Proactively taking steps toward who we want to become in future chapters is one of the best investments we can make in ourselves, and those we love. Whatever it is that you are facing right now, I would be honored to walk alongside you. As an MFT, I see therapy (and life) through the lens of relationship, which informs my approach. I have specific experience with women, individuals ages 13-25, and a background in working with musicians. Using evidenced-based approaches and models, I also employee ways to grow in self understanding, including the Enneagram.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I hold a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Lipscomb University and am currently pursuing licensure in Tennessee as a Marriage and Family Therapist. My bachelor's degree is in Journalism from Belmont University. I have a background in the music industry, as well as creative and technical writing. I enjoy working with individuals and have experience with self-esteem, family of origin, life adjustment, and faith issues. Having spent 25 years involved with the Tennessee Girls State program, I am experienced in working with young women, as well as those in, or pursuing, a creative vocation. I view therapy through the lens of relationship and believe that who we are at chapter 22 in our story does not have to be who we are at chapter 32. When I'm not working, you can find me reading, writing, spending time with my friends, family, and my shih tzu/poodle, Hamilton.
