My Background and Approach
I take a non-blaming, non-judgmental approach; viewing your experience as unique, where you are the expert in your life. I view the problem separate from the client; believing you have many skills, competencies, beliefs, values, and abilities to overcome the problem. I focus on what is going right in your life and what you are doing to make things better, rather than what you are doing wrong. Through conversation, I will help you to identify your strengths and areas in which you would like to improve. I draw upon research in relationships and marriage, applying them to your unique situation and developing co-collaborated strategies to make your life and relationships better. I often reference philosophy to help enhance therapeutic solutions and discussions.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that love is love and that nothing is "wrong" between consenting adults. All are accepted here no matter what your love looks like, how you arrange your intimate relationships, or how consenting partners show their love. I believe freedom to be who you are, which comes with a radical self-responsibility , which is a strength rather than a burden. I believe you are capable of solving your own problems, with your unique strengths as you and as a human (with reason, sisu, and connections to others). I believe that who we are is strongly influenced by those around us and the experiences we have. I'm honored to help you grown and be one of those experiences that helps you become the best version of yourself, as an individual and as a partner. I believe in YOU!
