About My Clients

People pleaser. Perfectionist. Worries about everything and nothing. Feels inadequate, unappreciated, undervalued. Burnt out. Does any of this sound familiar? If so, you are in the right place. We will work together to explore stuck points, areas where you would like to see change but fear and guilt have held you back. Give yourself permission to see what life can be like when you take the leap to focus on yourself, maybe for the first time. Let's start focusing on what matters to you.

My Background and Approach

I have worked in many settings including community mental health, addictions, colleges and private practice over the past 13 years and in three different states. I have found my passion and niche in private practice which allows me to focus in on each unique individual that I see and give them the time, attention and emotional availability that is necessary along this journey. I love working with people that are anxious about what therapy might be like or have had negative experiences in the past as my laid back style and use of humor often puts people immediately at ease. I love to use mindfulness and attachment in my work to help people make connections and identify patterns from past to present. Setting boundaries is a vital part of our work! I have many trainings in trauma, anxiety and mood disorders and love to continue learning as our field expands and grows. I use ACT principles to help you learn to be led by your values and not your thoughts.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that while not everyone "needs" therapy, everyone can benefit from it. There does not need to be a problem to initiate therapy - wanting to learn more about yourself, your relationships and your emotions is reason enough! I am passionate about helping people feel a deeper connection to their world - to go from surviving to thriving - from comfortable to content. I love watching people gain awareness and insight that allows them to make changes and take new paths. Therapy can be hard, and feel like work, but it is similar to going to the gym, you know that pain is going to bring a gain and once you push through the discomfort, there is visible change.
