My Background and Approach
I am NC born and raised having lived throughout the state from the mountains to the coast. I received my degrees at Appalachian State University where I enjoyed having the Blue Ridge Parkway at my finger tips. I am also licensed in mental health and substance use with many years of experience helping people reclaim their life. In addition, to extensive training in mental health and substance use, I am also trained in the Gottman method for couples counseling. My areas of expertise include addiction, anxiety and couples. I utilize a variety of approaches to best meet your needs. Some of the practices I will use may include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy. I also work with clients using exposure techniques toward overcoming anxiety and/or obsessive thoughts or habits. Most of all, I want to hear your story so that together we can create a treatment plan that will support your healing.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe wholeheartedly everyone experiences moments where they struggle with their mental health & our mental wellbeing is equally as important impacting our physical wellbeing. As we learn to care for ourselves both mentally and physically, we can enhance our quality of life. My goal is to create a warm and supportive environment for ultimate healing. I believe everyone has a right to a supportive, caring, and safe place for therapy and ultimate healing.
