About My Clients

Being a mom is a hard job, but when you've dealt with difficult things, it's even tougher. Managing the household, taking care of the kids, AND finding time to take care of you can feel impossible. You're feeling anxious more often than not, and stress & guilt feel like your BFFs. I know that struggle firsthand and it sucks. But I also know there are tools that can help you tackle that struggle and get the life you want. If that sounds good, then I want to work with you. :)

My Background and Approach

I have worked in the mental health field for 20+ years as a licensed professional counselor, family-based therapist, art therapist, and supervisor. I offer individual therapy (specializing in therapy for moms), art therapy, family therapy, and child therapy. My specialties include trauma, grief, anxiety, and pregnancy loss. My approach is caring, collaborative, and client-centered. I will get to know you and what's going on for you, then we will work together to design a treatment plan that meets your needs. I will never tell you what to do. I'll give you feedback, make suggestions, offer you options, and help you decide what YOU want to do. From relaxation techniques, to art therapy tools, to family bonding activities, I've got 20 years worth of stuff in my therapist toolkit.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that all people deserve caring, affirming, welcoming treatment not only in the therapy room, but in life. In my work with families, I have witnessed the devastating effects of systemic racism and health disparities among members of oppressed communities. I stand firmly against racism and discrimination in any form and do what I can to dismantle the systems that keep oppression in place. I support all movements that push for social justice and positive social change in order to ensure that all people are granted the same human rights and have equitable access to resources. I take my allyship seriously and work to maintain a balance of cultural competence and cultural humility in my practice. I actively tend to my own education as it relates to the cultural needs of my clients and strive to use my privilege to support BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and all marginalized communities.
