I'm a mom of a child with special needs and found it incredibly difficult to connect with other parents who do not have children with special needs. Being a caregiver of another human being can be stressful and rewarding at the same time. There can be feelings of guilt, shame, joy, anxiety, and depression- sometimes all in one day. I'd love to work with you if you are feeling the weight of caregiver stress.

I love presenting CBT to clients with anxiety, depression, and trauma. The premise of CBT is that thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are all connected. There are cognitive distortions (also known as thinking errors) that can lead us to behaviors that are not healthy for us. Recognizing which thinking errors we tend make can lead to changing our feelings about a specific situation, which further leads to changing a destructive or unhealthy behavior.

I believe that you are the expert of your life and I desire to hear your story. I will actively listen to your story, while providing a safe, non-judgmental space for you to tell it. I find that counseling is more effective if both parties are authentic and honest with each other. I get it- vulnerability is scary! But this is what creates the healthy, genuine connection we deeply crave.
