About My Clients

Do you feel like you've reached an impasse in your life or that you don't know where your story goes from here? Are there parts of your story that feel hard to tell or that you wish were different? As a therapist at CoreStory, an NYC-based group practice, I offer my clients a supportive space to share their authentic story with a compassionate, affirming listener who is committed to understanding their lived experience, nurturing their sense of possibility, and facilitating growth.

My Background and Approach

I have always been curious to understand this strange, sometimes bewildering journey of being human. After over 20 years in the performing arts, I found my way to the discipline of social work, whose core principle is that no human story can be summed up in a label or a diagnosis; like any compelling character, our experience is nuanced and layered, shaped by complex interactions across personal, social, environmental, and historical dimensions. My approach to therapy is humanistic, relational, compassion-focused, anti-oppressive, and trauma-informed, integrating elements of psychodynamics, narrative therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), as well as expressive therapies such as drama therapy and psychodrama.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that every human should have the freedom to exist in the world in the way that most aligns with their authentic spirit. I also believe that there are many dominant stories in our society that seek to define what is and is not acceptable, and that living our truth often requires a revolutionary act of resistance to claim the right to author our own story and treat it as valid. If you decide to work with me, we would begin a creative collaboration to identify the various elements that have shaped your life so that you can feel empowered to claim full authorship of your story and continue your journey toward your goals with a renewed sense of confidence, resilience, and hope.
