About My Clients
As we get to know one another, we will begin to dive deeper into your experience. You will have a sacred space to articulate and validate your own feelings, process past traumas, and determine what you value and desire most out of life. Together we will clearly define goals and begin incorporating actionable steps towards making the changes that you desire.
My Background and Approach
I approach therapy at two distinct levels: 1) Inner work, which deals with processing emotions, self-exploration, & cultivating self-awareness, and 2) Outer work, which involves learning specific coping skills & implementing new behaviors to make radical change. I utilize interventions rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) within an Existential-Humanistic framework. CBT provides a roadmap to eradicate negative, irrational thinking, and DBT incorporates skills for emotion regulation, interpersonal issues, and distress tolerance.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a strong believer in the saying “What you resist persists.” It takes a lot of courage to make the decision to acknowledge that we are struggling, to face our pain, and engage with the parts of ourselves that perhaps we have kept hidden. You do not have to do this alone and as your therapist, I will be present with you in these moments of bravery, and we will sort through them together.
