My Background and Approach
My approach is client-centered and healing-centered, giving you the power to shape the direction of each session. I’m a firm believer that everyone already has the inner knowing and tools to heal and come back home to themselves. Healing comes in different forms, and I honor the benefits of both non-traditional and traditional modalities of healing, rooted in cultural & ancestral healing, faith & spirituality. My undergraduate education in Psychology & Sociology at UC Davis laid the foundation for me to understand the ways that unjust systems, structures, & environments play a direct role in the mental health of our communities. I apply principles of: social justice, healing-centered care, trauma-informed care, and cognitive behavioral therapy in my practice - guiding you in re-shaping repetitive thoughts, actions, behaviors and stories that are no longer serving you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My experience is also driven by my own lived experiences as a Pinay with experiences of mixed depression, anxiety, intergenerational trauma & still on my own grief journey. Because therapy has taught me to prioritize self care, embrace the waves of emotions in grief, honor my boundaries & go after my dreams in the midst of individual & collective struggle, I’m a strong advocate for therapy & I’m called to support people who are seeking safe spaces to heal. Therapy can be intimidating especially when it’s your first time but I invite you to prioritize your needs not only for yourself but also for the people in your life. You deserve the love & care you pour into others! Whenever you’re ready, let’s take steps together to transform your pain into power, move from surviving to thriving and practice rest as resistance & a revolutionary act.
