About My Clients
I work with teens, college students, and adults navigating anxiety, relationships, identity, life transitions, family dynamics, and self-esteem. I especially enjoy working with adolescents and young adults around dating, friendships, boundaries, emotional regulation, people-pleasing, perfectionism, and becoming more confident in who they are. I also support adults working through family-of-origin patterns, relationship stress, grief, burnout, and major life changes.
My Background and Approach
I believe we are deeply relational people. We don’t develop, struggle, or grow in isolation; our relationships, families, communities, and experiences shape how we understand ourselves and move through the world. Because of that, my approach to therapy looks beyond the individual to the patterns and relationships surrounding you. Together, we may explore family-of-origin dynamics, attachment, boundaries, emotional regulation, and the ways you’ve learned to relate to yourself and others. My style is warm, collaborative, and non-pathologizing. I value insight, but I also believe therapy should help you build the confidence and skills to show up well in your relationships and in your life. My work is informed by attachment theory, family systems, developmental psychology, and evidence-based approaches. Christian faith can also be integrated for clients who desire it.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I’m HP, and I genuinely love people and am endlessly interested in what makes us who we are. I value relationships, faith, curiosity, and treating people with dignity and compassion. I believe we need one another, and that the people and relationships we love become part of who we are. My Christian faith is an important part of my own life, while I deeply respect that others come from different beliefs and backgrounds. Outside of counseling, I’m married and share life with my husband, our two dogs, and our cat. I’m almost always reading something, and I love trying new restaurants, wandering through thrift stores, baking chocolate chip cookies, and spending time with people I love. I recently returned to ballet as an adult and have loved having something in my life that asks for both discipline and play. I’m also continuing my graduate studies in psychology, which gives me the chance to keep learning about the people and relationships I find so fascinating.
