About My Clients

There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.--Maya Angelou Has every day become a struggle? Is a painful past haunting your present? From early on, trauma becomes interwoven into our being. Our physical selves become over-adapted to consistent threats. Riddled with anxiety, second guessing ourselves, and being retraumatized over and over become an exhausting existence. If you are ready to move forward, I am here with you!

My Background and Approach

I approach therapy through the lens that YOU already have the ability to create a life you want to live. I don't have a magic wand, but I do have an uncanny knack for being genuine, making you comfortable, and then sprinkling in the therapy (through cognitive and humanistic modalities). I specialize in trauma and addiction. I have been practicing for over 10 years in the mental health field. For the last 6 years I have worked primarily with trauma and addiction, and continue to actively attend training and experiences to augment my practice.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Humans have infinite possibilities when opportunity for growth presents itself. Therapy can be that growth. Our capabilities may be stifled by various injustices from a very young age, leaving us traumatized and sometimes stagnant. When I deployed to Iraq with the military, I was 19 years old. I returned home a changed person forever. It took me years to work through my anxieties and trauma. With that experience, I have found that it IS possible for us to move forward and to be resilient. It has become my passion to help others do the same. I believe in social justice and equity and am an ally to any and disenfranchised populations.

I offer online counseling in the following states:
