About My Clients
I specialize in working with kids + teens and their families during times of stress, transition, and grief. If you or your child is experiencing anxiety or depression, adjusting to divorce, living with a traumatic experience, or dealing with behavioral or academic issues, I am here to help you process your experience, find understanding, and make a plan or carve a path for the future.
My Background and Approach
As a fully licensed mental health counselor, I have extensive experience in grief counseling and supporting families and children through the anticipated loss of a loved one. I have worked with families during medical crisis, traumatic experiences, divorce and separation and many other difficult experiences. I specialize in treating anxiety, and I focus on supporting my clients holistically: at home and at school/work, socially, emotionally, academically, and creatively. In my approach, I often utilize art, dreamwork, writing and poetry, and imagination. I am also a handler for a professionally trained therapy dog (Golden Retriever) who is available for support during your in-person sessions.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe we all have a story, and that your story is of immense value. Whether you are an adult, a teen, a parent, a family unit; whether you are anxious, at a crossroads, angry, confused, hopeful or hopeless, or just looking for a new way to experience your world, I also believe that YOU are ABLE: lovable, capable, & durable. I also believe that the symptoms that a child may be experiencing, whether its anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, school/academic refusal or risk behavior- are symptoms to be tended to with compassion and patience.
