About My Clients
I work with individuals and couples/relationships. Many of my clients seek therapy because they want to improve their relationships with themselves, their partner, and their loved ones. I specifically work with individuals and couples who have experiences of trauma, depression, PTSD, anxiety, work stress, relationship challenges, affairs, break-ups, abuse, and/or major life transitions. I also work with entrepreneurs and executives that want to improve their personal and professional lives.
My Background and Approach
I am a therapist trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), an evidence-based method for helping couples and relationships release their negative patterns of relating and increase their closeness and connection. I have a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Florida, with a post graduate certification in Animal Assisted Therapy in Counseling (AAT-C). I am also an Adjunct Professor in the Dept of Public Health at the University of North Florida, and an author in the field of mental health. Prior to counseling, I worked for a decade in operations and innovation with entrepreneurs as they grew their businesses. I also have professional experience teaching evidence-based sexual health education in schools and community centers. It is an honor to work with individuals, students, couples, and businesses. In all of my work, I am passionate about facilitating opportunity for growth, healing, communication, and connection.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I strive to foster a safe and welcoming counseling environment, and am committed to ongoing personal and professional development. I participate in ongoing training and supervision in Emotionally-Focused Therapy, antiracism, and working with diverse populations including LGBTQIA+. I enjoy camping, going to the beach, hiking with my dog, gardening, and quality time with friends and family.
