Hi there! My name is Hannah, she/her, licensed therapist at Sacred Roots Counseling PLLC in Fayetteville, AR.

About My Clients

Life can feel overwhelming when there’s disconnection from your emotions, needs, or sense of self. It can feel like you’re on autopilot in your own life. We learn and adapt to different experiences, and sometimes these experiences can cause a part of us to become ‘stuck’; leaving residual pain, discomfort, or even trauma. I approach my practice from a somatic lens - giving attention and care to how trauma effects the nervous system, and how we can tap in and work towards healing.

My Background and Approach

I practice therapy from a Gestalt perspective, meaning, our work will center on deepening awareness of your present-moment experience, through thoughts, emotions, body sensations, and relational patterns, so healing can arise naturally through insight and embodied presence. We explore how past dynamics show up in the here and now, creating space for choice, integration, and self-compassion. I incorporate somatic awareness and mindfulness-based practices to support nervous system regulation and deepen connection to your inner wisdom. Our sessions will offer a grounded, relational space where your whole self is welcome. Especially the parts that feel stuck, uncertain, or unseen. I work with adolescents (16+) and adults dealing with anxiety, depression, life changes, trauma, etc. I have extensive training in treating complex trauma/PTSD and am trained in sand tray therapy. I enjoy and often work with clients processing religious trauma.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

As a queer individual, providing safe space to the LGBTQIA+ community is my primary goal. Living in a red state, it is not always easy to find places queer folx are safe and welcomed. I am passionate about my community and not only processing individual experiences, but also systemic grief and trauma. As a white cis woman, I recognize my limitations in understanding experiences of BIPOC communities and others, but I am committed to consistently learning from these communities and unlearning my whiteness in the process. Our freedom hinges on the freedom of others - my passion and work cannot be isolated in my therapy office to be authentic. I am engaged with my local and global community, and recognize the systemic grief some of us are experiencing with current affairs. If it feels like you need a safe space to process and grieve what you are experiencing and/or witnessing on a systemic level, let's connect.
