About My Clients
I work with clients who haven't had the easiest start in life, and have been feeling out of sync with the way they want to live in the here and now. Traumatic experiences at any point in your life can have a huge impact on the way you engage with and move through the world, and a lot of the time people turn to unhealthy habits just to get through the day. I can help you understand why you might be doing these things, and empower you to make changes to live the life you want!
My Background and Approach
I'm a trauma therapist and I specialize in complex childhood trauma. I have significant experience working with issues around substance use and addiction, which is so often a response to unbearably painful feelings and thoughts from traumatic experiences in the past. My approach incorporates psychodynamic, relational, and person centered theories with coping skills and concepts drawn from ACT, mindfulness, and EMDR.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I firmly believe in the necessity of holding a safe space for all people to receive quality mental health care, and I prioritize values of anti-oppression, antiracism, LGBTQ+ acceptance and solidarity, and body positivity in my practice.
