About My Clients

My clients often struggle with self-doubt, never feeling "good enough", and find themselves worried about how other people will perceive them. A lot of my client's grew up with parents who were narcissistic or emotionally neglectful and never really got the chance to form their own identities because they were focused on taking care of their parents. They learned from earlier experiences that it was safer to be a please others than it was to be themselves.

My Background and Approach

I really value helping my clients reclaim their identities, learn how to set boundaries with the people in their lives (this includes partners, family, friends, coworkers, etc.), relate to their thoughts and feelings in a different way, and feel safe in their minds and bodies. My therapeutic approach is really about being shame-sensitive and helping individuals who have been affected by negative relational experiences learn how to trust again, feel safe with others, and feel empowered to be themselves without fear of abandonment, loss, or retaliation. I'm trained in working with Adult Children of Narcissists, Dynamic Emotion Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy. My clients would describe me as warm, humorous, accepting, and supportive. I make sure I don't impose my own agenda on my clients and I really value working in a collaborative way. You'll find that I check things out with you, keep my focus on your feelings, and work at making sure you feel safe.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

We all have the capacity to find greater self-acceptance for who we are and where we've been in life. I believe every single person has an innate healing force that lives inside of them and my job is to help them find, activate, and honor it. The mind is a funny thing: It can tell us we're amazing or it can tell us we're shit. I like to help people learn to relate differently to what their mind tells them so that they have greater sovereignty over what they choose to take in and leave out.
