About My Clients

My clients are diverse and bring forth a broad range of goals spanning from executive functioning skill growth to chronic condition management to navigating domestic abuse to neurodivergent empowerment. Whether challenged by anxiety, sensory sensitivities, ADHD, or addiction, the common thread between all my clients is the need for nervous system regulation.

My Background and Approach

I started out my career as an aspiring theme park designer. I was fascinated by the therapeutic quality of engagement. Watching a movie, for example, can be therapeutic, but there stands a screen between you and the story that you’re being immersed in. But when you venture through the lands of a theme park, you are the active participant of your own narrative. I came to realize that I didn’t just want to design theme parks. I want to help people overcome challenges and barriers that prevent them from engaging in the activities that bring them purpose. I want to help people improve the meaningfulness and quality of their lives. And I want to help people engage in occupations that are transportive to them so that they can be active participants of their own narratives. My goal is to help you become an active participant of your own narrative by helping you become a master of your nervous system.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Our identities are made up of the occupations that we engage in. But what happens when someone receives a new diagnosis? That does not mean that their life has come to an end. Instead, this presents an opportunity for OTs to collaborate with patients, restructure, and re-envision what their future lives will look like. Dr. Khan embraces a holistic and affirming practice space. In every facet of her work, Dr. Khan seeks to create a therapeutic environment that nurtures resilience and encourages individuals to rewrite their stories. Her unique blend of clinical expertise, creative inspiration from theme park design, and dedication to inclusivity reflects a compassionate and forward-thinking approach to the field of occupational therapy.
