About My Clients
You might be finding simple tasks overwhelming; even getting out of bed in the morning might feel like a monumental undertaking. Things that once brought joy may now seem dull. Perhaps you are feeling tension build up from constant undercurrent of “what ifs,” or feeling self-conscious or fearful of being judged, making everyday interactions burdensome. It can be exhausting to navigate life everyday when it feels as though everything drains you – but it doesn’t have to be this way.
My Background and Approach
I specialize in treating depression, postpartum depression, anxiety, and relationship issues. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a highly effective approach for these concerns. Together, we’ll develop a tailored plan that may include identifying and challenging unhelpful thought patterns, building coping strategies, and practicing skills to navigate challenges more effectively. CBT is also an investment in yourself—by learning these skills, you’ll be equipped to apply them in the future, helping you manage difficulties long after therapy ends. Over time, you can expect improved emotional well-being, stronger relationships, and a greater sense of control over your life. I completed my postdoctoral fellowship at Weill Cornell, where I advanced my expertise in CBT. I earned my PhD from St. John's University and gained valuable training experience at NYC hospitals, including LIJ Northwell, NYC Health + Hospitals/Queens, and NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I’m deeply committed to fostering a safe, inclusive space where people from all walks of life can explore their experiences without fear of judgment. Having worked extensively with underprivileged and immigrant communities, I value cultural competence and aim to honor the unique identities and perspectives of each client. My approach to therapy is grounded in the belief that everyone has the capacity for growth and resilience. Using evidence-based methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I strive to empower my clients to recognize their inner strengths, navigate life’s challenges, and build the lives they envision for themselves.
