About My Clients
You’re defeated, broken, and feeling trapped in your past. Life has not been easy for you and along the way you seem to have lost who you are. The trauma you have experienced is affecting you daily, making you feel helpless. Unable to love yourself you struggle to set and maintain boundaries. The pressure to please others is exhausting and you can't seem to find balance or support in your life. You’re looking for guidance to process through all the baggage, uncertainty, and stress.
My Background and Approach
I earned my Bachelors in Social Work from Central Michigan University in 2013. I then earned my Masters in Social Work (MSW) from Michigan State University in 2014. During my undergrad and graduate work, I interned for a Community Mental Health agency and The Underground Railroad Domestic Violence Center. I have studied various therapeutic approaches over the years such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and am a Trauma Informed specialist. Specifically, I specialize in Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and also incorporate many energy medicine techniques, self-regulation/meditation methods and music therapy modalities into my practice.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am someone who is passionate about individual freedoms. I believe all people should be able to live the life that brings them joy without concern or retribution from anyone else. I believe in bold self expression and individualization. I believe in women's rights and equality. I believe LOVE is LOVE. I believe Black Live Matter! I believe everyone can heal, grow and become a better person. I enjoy volunteering for local churches, event planning, and advocating for those in need. I have an extensive background in domestic violence and sexual assault that makes me a safe person to disclose to and receive genuine support.
