About My Clients
You deserve to have a space where you can show up fully as yourself and learn how to work with your brain, not against it! We'll probably work really well together if you are constantly trying to understand yourself, social/relational dynamics, your needs, and how to create healthier relational patterns. I am passionate about helping therapists, queer folks, and neurodiverse folks (ADHD/Autism) with complex trauma learn to feel safe with their selves and in relationships.
My Background and Approach
My goal is to help you learn how to work with your brain instead of against it like we’ve been taught socially and culturally, and to guide you in building safety with yourself that can help you improve other areas of your life. Your nervous system has been impacted by your experiences. It's my goal to help you learn how to re-interpret your body's cues, emotions, and needs to build acceptance for yourself and align more with your values and desires in life. This work often requires us to reconnect with parts of us that have been forgotten or neglected and re-write stories in our minds about our worth, which I help facilitate through trauma-informed, somatic, and relational lenses like Polyvagal theory, EMDR, Attachment theory, Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Internal Family Systems (IFS or parts work).
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I strive to be a culturally-sensitive, antiracist, and LGBTQIA+ inclusive therapist who values each client's unique identities and how they have shaped you into who you are. I am a relational therapist, which means I want you to show up fully however you need to and will always support you when you express a need. You are welcome to bring snacks, drink coffee while we talk, cuddle your kitty on your lap. We will often laugh together, share tears, and challenge beliefs that no longer align with who you want to be. We will collaborate to help you understand your limitations and needs, adjust expectations of yourself, and create space for self-care and self-compassion in your life.
