About My Clients

My clients are often fat folks, people with chronic pain or illness, and sex workers. I am with my clients as a non-judgmental witness. I spot their softness and sparkle, creating space for them to be their whole selves while also allowing room to grieve the parts that may have been exiled over time.

My Background and Approach

I love to move towards present-moment emotional experience when I’m with clients. That often looks like me inviting a client to slow down and notice sensations in their body. We can follow body tension to uncover what may be held underneath the surface and then build more self-compassion, understanding, and awareness. I will always be transparent with you about the ins and outs of the therapeutic process because I believe that collaboration and consent are vital to creating safety and trust in our time together. I bring genuine love and care into my relationship with my clients. Many clients I work with have had trouble receiving love because they’ve felt unworthy or unlovable; I view therapy as a potential cozy space for corrective, reparative experiences that can start to soften clients’ inner experiences. That’s the whole idea behind the name “Soft Spot”: melting away the hardness that our society or trauma forces unto us and, in place, deepening into more of the love.
