My Background and Approach
I became a licensed clinical social worker in 2019 but I have been working with homeless veterans that have multitudes of mental health problems and substance use since 2011. In addition, I have also worked with immigrants who have experienced extensive domestic violence abuse. Currently, I work with the veteran population with extensive mental health issues and substance use disorder. My goal is to work together to address any challenge that you might be experiencing. I will give you the tools and we can walk that path together for you to carry on and maintain a healthy and more fulfilling life. Im currently attending a Dialectical Behavioral Therapy seminar to best service you and meet your needs in therapy. Together we will identify the problem and find solutions that are going to work for you and continue to work after you leave therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe everyone has the capacity to grow and change their lives; however, that drive needs to come from within you. Unhealthy behaviors were learned from your environment which means they can also be unlearned. With all behavior we must first identify them to be able to treat them and stop them or replace them with healthier ones. This by no means is easy but with practice and support we can get you there.
